About the Leather: “You’re going to need a bigger boat.” Shark skin is a unique exotic leather for its combination of durability and depth to the grain. The texture on the sharkskin has an iconic deep grain that you notice right away. Shark skin has great durability and wear resistance. It is water resistant (of course!), and lighter in weight than cow leather. For Panerai watches, shark skin is quite possibly one of the most light weight and comfortable materials that you can use for a strap. The leather is not rigid and conforms well to the wrist. The design of this strap draws inspiration from early Panerai straps which had sewn in buckles and a single floating keeper. Skin sourced from the Gulf Coast of the USA.
