Panerai Luminor 44mm Strap 24/24 “98% Cacao” Brown

Description

About the Leather:  This eminently wearable Brown Panerai strap is 100% handcrafted from start to finish. For this project, I selected a semi-gloss brown chrome tanned leather with a soft temper. This dark brown Panerai strap easily conforms to the wrist thanks to the soft temper and 3.5mm thickness. The design of this custom Panerai strap includes one sewn keeper and one floating. The strap features a crease along the edges.  I’ve hand-stitched this strap in a boxed pattern using cream colored thread. Furthermore, I have added an additional line of stitching to reinforce the buckle.

I designed this strap in an OEM style, with the tip of the fold terminating near the buckle for added strength near the lugs. Additional stitching colors available by request. As seen in the photos, this strap is especially suited to brown or tobacco dial Panerai models, but can easily be worn with other case and dial combinations as well. designed this strap with a sewn pin buckle. You may also select “No Buckle” from the drop down menu if you wish to use your own OEM buckle. Additionally, several options for alternate buckles are available from the same drop down menu. This unique custom Panerai strap can be seen above on the PAM00061 Titanium Luminor. The strap in the sample photos measures 125/80mm for your reference.

Measurements:  This strap is 24/24, with a thickness of ~3.5mm.

Additional Information:  The 44mm Panerai Luminor is the true workhorse of the Panerai lineup, and by far has the most potential for aftermarket strap creation.  While larger 47mm case models demand thicker straps, the 44mm Luminor case is more flexible and works with a variety of different strap thicknesses.  With that in mind, I make most of my 44mm case Panerai straps with thinner thread.  When I select the thread and spacing, I take into consideration the thickness and temper of the leather.

Most of my 24mm custom straps for 44mm Panerai models utilize a vintage Panerai style pin buckle. However, you will find that many straps in this section also have additional buckle options.  My general design philosophy for 24mm straps is dual keepers of generous width, box stitching, and a thickness or 3.5 to 5.5mm depending on leather temper.

Finally, all of my 24mm Panerai straps for 44mm cases are 24/24mm, without a taper.  The only tapered straps that I make are for Radiomir cases.  Further, my design preferences for the 44mm Panerai case tend towards longer buckle sides and shorter bottom sides. Above all, the aim is to achieve as much balance as possible.  Additionally, the stitching margins will be thinner on my 24mm Panerai straps than they are on my 47mm Panerai straps.

I pride myself in each aftermarket Panerai strap that I produce and perform the entire process by hand without templates or machines of any sort.  I use the absolute basic tools, the same tools that I used as a boot maker for nearly two decades.  In conclusion, as a result of the handmade nature of these straps, no two are identical.
