Description
About the Leather:  I handcrafted this black seal skin Radiomir strap with 100% authentic seal leather harvested by indigenous Inuit hunters in the Nunavut northern arctic territories of Canada. Seal leather is soft, light weight and waterproof in addition to being sturdy and flexible. Seal leather is a popular choice for gloves, clothing and hats in areas of the world with large seal populations. This is the second version of the Seal Skin Radiomir strap that I have made and it includes various updates. I designed this seal leather Radiomir strap with a 27-22mm taper. This strap features one floating keeper and one fixed, with a buckle that is removable. In addition, you may see further buckle options in the drop down menu.
This seal skin Panerai strap features black hand-stitching in a boxed pattern. The edges of this seal skin strap feature a fine crease as opposed to the soft crease of the previous version. Further updates over the previous version include the fundamental design of the strap. The tip of the larger side features a more narrow taper. The watch ends of the strap feature a slightly different taper which gives the end pieces more width. The design of the buckle side has been revised, with the fold overlay position relocated towards the buckle for additional strength. Additionally, this strap features fully hand burnished edges on all surfaces, giving it a more polished finish.
Pictured above you may see this black seal skin Panerai strap on the PAM00292 Radiomir Black Seal. For those of you with Ceramica, DLC or other black cased Panerai models (such as the PAM00505, PAM00504, PAM00629, PAM00612, PAM00335, PAM01275, PAM01441, PAM00580, PAM00997, PAM00339, PAM00384, PAM00577, PAM00643, PAM00317, PAM00613 etc.) this is the ideal strap for you! Thanks to the all black concept of this strap, it can be matched to a wide variety of Panerai Radiomir dials and cases. This leather is fairly scarce and costly, so a limited number of straps will be produced. Finally, the strap pictured above measures 125/80 and features a smooth PVD buckle for your reference.

Additional Information: For each Panerai watch, I have a different design philosophy when it comes to making straps. The Radiomir is my historical favorite among all Panerai cases. I bought my first Radiomir nearly two decades ago and did not start making straps for them until many years later when I neared retirement. The Radiomir is a fun and challenging case to make custom straps for.Â
On larger Panerai cases in the 47mm range, I tend to use thicker thread with wider spacing. For the Radiomir I employ a mixture of both thicker and thinner threads, and both tight and wide spacing. When determining the thread thickness and spacing I take into account the characteristics of the leather. As a general rule, I tend to make my custom aftermarket Radiomir straps in thicknesses ranging from 3.5 to 5.0mm. The average thickness will be somewhere in the middle.
Due to the wire lugs of the typical Panerai Radiomir case, I tend to lean towards leathers of a slightly softer and more pliable temper. From a design perspective, I tend to utilize a taper of 27-22 or 26-22 depending on the leather. If you have a larger 47mm Radiomir case, like a PAM323, I highly recommend going with straps of 4.5mm thickness or above. I have even designed some custom aftermarket Radiomir straps specifically for the 47mm Radiomir cases that have a bolstered taper where the strap meets the case.
Please do not hesitate to contact me prior to the purchase of your custom Panerai Radiomir strap. I would be happy to guide you on your journey towards the best bespoke strap for your individual needs. I pride myself in all aftermarket Panerai straps that I produce. In addition, I complete the entire process by hand without templates or machines of any sort. Futhermore, I use the absolute basic tools, the same tools that I used as a boot maker for nearly two decades. Finally, as a result of the hand made nature of these straps, no two are identical.

I love the material. This strap is very light but also soft. I took it in the water without any issues. Thanks for the custom buckle.
